Weekly update P5/6 ππ‘π¨βπ»π€ΈββοΈ
We had a very busy week in our P5/6 classroom this week! ππ‘
Mrs McAloon has been teaching us sounds/actions to help us learn our weekly phonics. We then transferred this learning onto paper squares where we built our words by breaking down the word per sound. This is a fantastic tool for helping us spell and something which we will practise weekly in school and at home π
We were super excited to hear we have a new Gaelic PE coach coming to see us every Mondayπ€ΈβοΈπ€ΈβοΈ. This week Mr Garrity taught us the new skill of catching and hugging the ball so we can maintain possession better. He also explained the importance of balanceβοΈ, accuracy when passing the ballβοΈ and spatial awareness π. We had so much fun and we are looking forward to our Monday sessions with him. He was also very impressed with our listening skills and complimented us as a class for being model students π π
On Thursday we went to our brand new ICT suite π¨π»π©π». We are currently learning all about 'The Rainforest'. So far, we have brainstormed everything we would like to know and learn about the rainforest as well as choosing an animal to research and fact find about. We are now using the computers to search the Internet to find all the answers we need βοΈ. Once all our information is gathered we will display our amazing work on our display board outside our classroom (and hopefully win the prize for best display board π€) So watch this space π
Have a lovely weekend P5/6. See you all on Monday for another amazing week π
