On Wednesday the children in Primary 4 were invited along with Primary 5 to partake in the much anticipated Community Archaeology Programme (CAP) NI excavation in Derrygonnelly, led by Dr. Eileen Murphy.
The children enjoyed learning about what life would have been like in the 17th century, and they loved the opportunity to dig for treasure in the field next to the old church. There was great excitement and delight when some of our children uncovered fragments of coal, brick, glass and even some glazed pottery pieces!
