On Monday, following on from Miss McGarrigle’s assembly on teeth we were able to discover what plaque looks like with Miss Brosnan.🦷
For the experiment we needed two cups, one cup had yeast and warm water and the other cup had yeast, warm water and sugar. After 15 minutes we were able to see how the yeast and sugar reacted together. Miss Brosnan used this example to explain to us, when sugar reacts with the bacteria in our mouths it creates a sticky film called plaque.🧪🔬
We then discussed as a class all the different ways we can reduce the amount of plaque in our mouths.🪥🍎
