P5/6 Learning, Cooking and Exercise! 🥕🔢🏃♀️
It's been a very busy and fun packed week in the P5/6 classroom this week! We learned to make nouns plural by adding -s or -es to the end of words. Mrs McAloon showed us simple rules, like changing baby to babies or box to boxes. We practised with fun activities, games, and writing some sentences. 📝✍️. We also continued learning to add 3-digit and 4-digit numbers by lining them up place by place ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands. We start from the right side➡️ and move left◀️, carrying over when a column adds up to more than 9. Step by step, we’re learning to add big numbers with confidence🔢! As well as all our learning we had lots of fun with other activities including;
🥦Healthy Eating Week- This week there has been focus throughout the school on healthy eating. We have been discussing the benefits of healthy food choices and what foods are good for our bodies. The children had a fantastic time during a practical lesson preparing fresh soup vegetables. They really enjoyed the fun of chopping and peeling all the vegetables! They also got to enjoy the delicious finished soup after all their hard work 🥕🧅🥔🍜
♻️Alongside their cooking activities, the children explored creative ways on how to look after our school🏫 and planet🌎, from reducing food waste to recycling and planting seeds. The excitement grew even more as our school is currently forming a new Eco Committee, giving pupils a chance to take the lead in making their school more sustainable.
🏃♀️The week also included plenty of movement, with fun exercise sessions that got minds and bodies active.
Another fantastic and productive week P5/6, well done everyone👏. Have a lovely weekend and see you all on Monday. 😊
