🌟 P5/6 A busy week of learning🌟
Our first week back after the break has been a busy but fun one!
This week, we explored adverbs — those clever little words that describe how we do things (run quickly, sing sweetly, shout loudly). Fun Fact: adverbs usually end with 'ly'
We even got to act them out around the classroom. The children collectively agreed that it was “so much fun!” 😊 This was so lovely to hear and what we aim to do....make learning fun 😀
We also learned about prepositions, words like under, above, in, and over that tell us where or when something happens.
Our numeracy work was just as exciting this week, with plenty of visual and hands-on learning. Our topic was number families. We chose three numbers and learned how to multiply✖️ and divide➗️ them. We discovered that multiplication is commutative, meaning we can change the order of the smaller numbers and still get the same answer! 🤗
We also noticed that when multiplying with three numbers, the biggest number will always appear at the end, while in division, the biggest number always comes first in the equation.
5 × 10 = 50
10 × 5 = 50
50 ÷ 10 = 5
50 ÷ 5 = 10
To round off our week, we had time to chat about all the fun activities we enjoyed over our Halloween break. 🎃 We then used our ICT suite to practise our typing skills and write a few paragraphs about it. It was great fun learning how to change font types and sizes, and how to align paragraphs for better presentation. 👩💻🖨
Overall, it’s been a very productive, creative, and fun week of learning for P5/6. Well done, everyone! 👏
