Our Amazing P5/6 Children 😊📚
The children have had a very busy and productive week📈, working hard💪, learning together🫶 and enjoying a variety of fun and meaningful activities📚. Here is a few of the topics and areas we discussed in our classroom this week;
📊 Data Handling
The children learned about different types of graphs, including pictograms, bar charts and tally charts. They studied the data and results and talked about what the graphs showed, such as which was most or least popular.
🔤 Alphabet Alliteration
We created alliterative sentences using the alphabet, such as “Aoife ate an apple after assembly”. This helped the children develop vocabulary, sentence structure and phonics skills in a fun way.
✏️ Possessive Apostrophes
Through comprehension work, the children practised using possessive apostrophes correctly, for example “Elena's bag” or “Shauna's coat”. They learned how apostrophes show ownership in sentences.
🔺 2D and 3D Shapes
Using tabletop activities, the children built and explored 2D shapes like squares and triangles, and 3D shapes such as cubes and pyramids. They discussed sides, faces and corners while working together!
Well done everyone! An amazing week by you all...........😊👐
