P1's are learning all about money this week in Numeracy.They are learning how to recognise coins, understand their values and begin using them in simple practical situations. They were carousel learning: getting to use coins in various different ways to enhance their understanding. They were sorting coins into the correct sets, counting coins and recording their answers, role play shopping matching prices to items, putting out the correct amount of coins for a certain value, matching the key to the correct money lock and putting out the correct amount of money to buy items on the interactive board. The children rotated around each activity and were having so much fun learning.
